{"id":3779,"date":"2023-03-06T01:59:17","date_gmt":"2023-03-05T20:29:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=3779"},"modified":"2025-03-26T19:21:41","modified_gmt":"2025-03-26T13:51:41","slug":"megha-tropiques-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/megha-tropiques-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Megha-Tropiques-1"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Megha-Tropiques-1:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Megha-Tropiques is an <strong>Indo-French Joint Satellite Mission<\/strong> for studying the water cycle and energy exchanges in the tropics.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Objective:<\/strong> To understand the life cycle of convective systems that influence tropical weather and climate and their role in the associated energy and moisture budget of the atmosphere in tropical regions.<\/li>\n<li>It provides scientific data on the contribution of the <strong>water cycle to the tropical atmosphere<\/strong>, with information on condensed water in clouds, water vapour in the atmosphere, precipitation, and evaporation.<\/li>\n<li>With its circular orbit inclined 20 deg to the equator, the Megha-Tropiques is a unique satellite for climate research that should also aid scientists seeking to refine prediction models.<\/li>\n<li>The Megha-Tropiques has <strong>day, night and all-weather viewing capabilities<\/strong>; it passes over India almost a dozen times every day, giving scientists an almost real-time assessment of the evolution of clouds.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Megha-Tropiques carries the following four payloads:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Microwave Analysis and Detection of Rain and Atmospheric Structures (<strong>MADRAS<\/strong>), an Imaging Radiometer developed jointly by CNES and ISRO<\/li>\n<li>Sounder for Probing Vertical Profiles of Humidity (<strong>SAPHIR<\/strong>), from CNES.<\/li>\n<li>Scanner for Radiation Budget (<strong>ScaRaB<\/strong>), from CNES.<\/li>\n<li>Radio Occultation Sensor for Vertical Profiling of Temperature and Humidity (<strong>ROSA<\/strong>), procured from Italy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1)What is a satellite?<\/h3>\n<p>An object in an orbit is called a satellite.
