missile (MR-SAM) air defence missile system aboard the INS Surat warship in the Arabian Sea recently.<\/p>\n<h2>About Medium Range-Surface to Air Missile<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a\u00a0<strong>high-response, quick-reaction<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>vertically launched supersonic missile<\/strong>\u00a0designed to\u00a0<strong>neutralize enemy aerial threats\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 missiles, aircraft, guided bombs, helicopters, etc.<\/li>\n<li>It is\u00a0<strong>developed jointly by<\/strong>\u00a0Defence Research and Development Organisation\u00a0<strong>(DRDO) and Israel Aerospace Industries,<\/strong>\u00a0and is\u00a0<strong>produced at Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Features:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Each MRSAM weapon system\u00a0<strong>comprises one command and control system<\/strong>, one\u00a0<strong>tracking radar, missiles<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>mobile launcher\u00a0<\/strong>systems.<\/li>\n<li>The mobile launcher is used to transport, emplace, and launch up to eight canisterised missiles in two stacks.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>It can fire the missiles in single or ripple firing modes from the vertical firing position.<\/li>\n<li>The weapon is 4.5 m-long, weighs approximately 276kg, and is equipped with canards and fins for control and manoeuvrability.<\/li>\n<li>It is equipped with an a<strong>dvanced active radar radio frequency (RF) seeker,<\/strong>\u00a0advanced<strong>\u00a0rotating phased array radar,\u00a0<\/strong>and a\u00a0<strong>bidirectional data link.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It is powered by a\u00a0<strong>dual-pulse solid propulsion system<\/strong>\u00a0developed by DRDO.<\/li>\n<li>The propulsion system, coupled with a thrust vector control system, allows the missile to move at a maximum speed of Mach 2.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The weapon has the ability to engage
