Both these amendments<strong> deal with third-party insurance and claims management<\/strong>, including <strong>filing claims with the Motor Accident Claim Tribunal.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Motor Accident Claim Tribunal:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>It was created by the <strong>Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It has been <strong>constituted to provide speedier remedy to the victims of accidents<\/strong> by motor vehicles.<\/li>\n<li>There is <strong>no time limit for filing<\/strong> motor vehicle <strong>accidents claims.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>A <strong>State Government can constitute one or more Motor Accidents Claims Tribunals<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Civil Courts do not have jurisdiction<\/strong> in the matters which concerns the Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>appeals<\/strong> against the Claims Tribunals will <strong>lie before the High Courts.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The <strong>appeal is limited by time<\/strong> and has to be <strong>filed in the High Court within 90 days<\/strong> from the date of award of the Claims Tribunal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1)<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>What is the maximum compensation under Motor Vehicle Act of 1988?<\/h3>\n<p>The government in 2018 has amended the compensation amount payable for third-party fatal accidents and injury claims. The amount of compensation payable in case of death will be Rs five lakh.
