She was proficient in <\/span><b>multiple languages<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, including Tamil, English, French, and Urdu.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Strategic Alliances:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Velu Nachiyar forged strategic alliances with several powerful leaders of the time, including Hyder Ali of Mysore and Gopala Nayaker.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She raised a <\/span><b>formidable army<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that included a <\/span><b>dedicated women\u2019s battalion<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the queen named her <\/span><b>women\u2019s army \u201cUdaiyaal\u201d in<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> her adopted daughter\u2019s honour.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Her army <\/span><b>commander Kuyili<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, participated is considered the \u201cfirst woman martyr\u201d and the first suicide bomber in Indian history.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She was the first queen to fight for freedom from the British in India.
