{"id":45974,"date":"2025-12-14T13:55:15","date_gmt":"2025-12-14T08:25:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=45974"},"modified":"2025-12-15T16:17:05","modified_gmt":"2025-12-15T10:47:05","slug":"gonorrhoea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/gonorrhoea\/","title":{"rendered":"Gonorrhoea"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Gonorrhoea Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently granted approval for two new oral medicines, Nuzolvence (zoliflodacin) and Blujepa (gepotidacin), to treat gonorrhoea, a common sexually transmitted infection, prone to resistance against drugs. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Gonorrhoea<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>preventable and curable sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by the bacteria <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Neisseria gonorrhea.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s also sometimes <\/span><b>called \u201cthe clap\u201d or \u201cdrip.\u201d\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gonorrhea bacteria can <\/span><b>infect <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the <\/span><b>urethra, rectum, female reproductive tract, mouth, throat, or eyes.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Transmission<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is most commonly spread during <\/span><b>vaginal, oral or anal sexual activity.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But <\/span><b>babies <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">can get the<\/span><b> infection during childbirth.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>In babies,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> gonorrhea most <\/span><b>commonly affects the eyes.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gonorrhea can affect people of any age, anatomy, or gender, but it\u2019s <\/span><b>particularly common among teens and young adults <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">between the <\/span><b>ages of 15 and 24.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Symptoms<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Many people<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with gonorrhoea <\/span><b>won\u2019t notice any symptom<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">s.
