{"id":46120,"date":"2026-07-09T12:00:22","date_gmt":"2026-07-09T06:30:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=46120"},"modified":"2026-07-09T13:55:48","modified_gmt":"2026-07-09T08:25:48","slug":"ins-surat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/ins-surat\/","title":{"rendered":"INS Surat"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>INS Surat Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Warship JS Takanami (DD-110) of the Japan Maritime Self Defence Force (JMSDF) recently conducted joint naval activities with the Indian Navy warship INS Surat.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About INS Surat<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a state-of-the-art <\/span><b>stealth guided missile destroyer<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the Indian Navy.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the<\/span><b> fourth and final vessel of the Visakhapatnam-class (Project 15B<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Guided Missile Destroyer Project) destroyers.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was designed by the Navy\u2019s Warship Design Bureau and <\/span><b>built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders, Mumbai.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It has <\/span><b>75 percent Indigenous content.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was <\/span><b>commissioned <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">into the Indian Navy in January <\/span><b>2025<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>INS Surat <\/b><b>Features<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With a displacement of 7,400 tonnes and length of 164m, the INS Surat is among the largest destroyers in the world.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Stealth Design: Reduced radar cross-section<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with X-band stealth hull; integrated mast for sensors.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is powered by a Combined Gas and Gas (COGAG) propulsion set comprising four gas turbines.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has a top speed of 30 knots (56 km\/h) and carries 300 personnel (50 officers and 250 sailors).
