{"id":46164,"date":"2025-05-03T11:43:26","date_gmt":"2025-05-03T06:13:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=46164"},"modified":"2025-05-17T11:48:25","modified_gmt":"2025-05-17T06:18:25","slug":"depot-darpan-portal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/depot-darpan-portal\/","title":{"rendered":"Depot Darpan Portal"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Depot Darpan Portal Latest News<\/h2>\n<p>The government recently said it will soon launch the Depot Darpan portal and mobile application, with an objective to ensure that the food storage depots meet the highest quality and performance standards.<\/p>\n<h2>About Depot Darpan Portal<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an initiative of the\u00a0<strong>Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food &amp; Public Distribution<\/strong>, Government of India.<\/li>\n<li>Conceived by the Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD), Depot Darpan will\u00a0<strong>digitise the operations<\/strong>\u00a0of 2,278\u00a0<strong>grain depots managed by\u00a0<\/strong>the\u00a0<strong>Food Corporation of India (FCI), Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC), and various state agencies.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Objective<\/strong>: To\u00a0<strong>ensure\u00a0<\/strong>that the\u00a0<strong>food storage depots meet the highest quality and performance standards.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It\u00a0<strong>enables depot managers to evaluate<\/strong>\u00a0infrastructure, operational, and financial\u00a0<strong>performance on a near real-time basis.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Depot Managers upload geo-tagged inputsof the infrastructure<\/strong>\u00a0available in their depot, generating automated ratings and action points for timely improvements.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The system\u00a0<strong>ensures 100% validation by<\/strong>\u00a0the<strong>\u00a0supervisory officers\u00a0<\/strong>and random third-party audits.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>warehouses\u00a0<\/strong>are\u00a0<strong>assessed based on two main categories:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Infrastructural aspects,<\/strong>\u00a0which include safety standards, storage conditions, environmental, technology adoption, and statutory parameters.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Operational efficiency<\/strong>\u00a0aspects, which include stock turnover, losses, space utilisation, manpower expenses, and profitability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Each category<\/strong>\u00a0is\u00a0<strong>evaluated independently,\u00a0<\/strong>and the\u00a0<strong>warehouse receives a star rating\u00a0<\/strong>based on the composite scoring from both parameters.<\/li>\n<li>Depot Darpan is uniquely\u00a0<strong>integrated with smart warehousing technologies<\/strong>, creating a seamless\u00a0<strong>digital monitoring ecosystem<\/strong>\u00a0that includes:\u00a0<strong>CCTV Surveillance and IoT sensors<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The IoT-Enabled Monitoring includes:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Ambient sensor<\/strong>:\u00a0<strong>Temperature and relative humidity<\/strong>\u00a0to monitor grain moisture and temperature.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Carbon dioxide (CO2):<\/strong>\u00a0To monitor and indicate\u00a0<strong>potential grain infestation.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Phosphine gas sensor:\u00a0<\/strong>Ensures occupational safety for workers through early warning to prevent exposure to toxic gas levels. Detects fumigation leakages, increasing effectiveness of treatment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gate Shutter sensor:<\/strong>\u00a0Detection of unauthorised door access. Alerts for unauthorised door openings outside designated hours. Monitors door status during fumigation processes.
