{"id":4617,"date":"2026-05-15T12:24:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-15T06:54:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=4617"},"modified":"2026-05-15T15:10:19","modified_gmt":"2026-05-15T09:40:19","slug":"what-is-advance-authorisation-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/what-is-advance-authorisation-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"Advance Authorisation (AA) Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Advance Authorisation (AA) Scheme Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the government put limits on the quantity of gold that can be imported under the Advance Authorisation (AA) Scheme.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Advance Authorisation (AA) Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It allows <\/span><b>duty free import of inputs,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which are physically <\/span><b>incorporated in an export product.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to any inputs, <\/span><b>packaging material, fuel, oil and catalysts<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which are consumed\/utilized in the process of production of export products, are also allowed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The inputs imported are exempt from duties like,<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Basic Customs Duty, Additional Customs Duty, Education Cess<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Anti-dumping duty, Safeguard Duty and Transition Product-Specific Safeguard duty, Integrated tax, and Compensation Cess, wherever applicable, subject to certain conditions.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An <\/span><b>export obligation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is usually <\/span><b>set as a condition<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for issuing Advance Authorization.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Advanced Authorization Issued to<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Manufacturer Exporters:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Entities engaged in manufacturing goods for export.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Merchant Exporters tied to Supporting Manufacturer<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(s): Traders who do not manufacture themselves but procure goods from a supporting manufacturer for export.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>The<\/b> <b>Advanced Authorization shall be issued for<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Physical exports<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Intermediate supply<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Supplies made to specified categories of deemed exports<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Supply of \u2018stores\u2019 on board of a foreign-going vessel\/aircraft, provided that there are specific <\/span><b>Standard Input Output Norms (SION)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in respect of items supplied.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Advance Authorization <\/span><b>is valid for 12 months<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from the date of issue of such Authorization.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is overseen by the <\/span><b>Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.financialexpress.com\/policy\/economy\/govt-caps-gold-imports-under-exportnbspscheme-tightens-monitoring\/4241171\/lite\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">FE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Advance Authorisation (AA) Scheme allows duty free import of inputs, which are physically incorporated in an export product.
