{"id":4617,"date":"2026-09-19T12:24:14","date_gmt":"2026-09-19T06:54:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=4617"},"modified":"2026-09-19T16:48:28","modified_gmt":"2026-09-19T11:18:28","slug":"what-is-advance-authorisation-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/what-is-advance-authorisation-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"Advance Authorization Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Advance Authorization Scheme Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The government has relaxed the existing 15-day stockholding limit for bulk consumers to 30 days, provided the quantity of stock held beyond 15 days limit shall be sourced exclusively from sugar imported under the Advance Authorisation Scheme (AAS).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Advance Authorization Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><b>allows duty free import of inputs,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which are physically incorporated in an export product.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to any inputs, packaging material, fuel, oil and catalysts which are consumed\/utilized in the process of production of export products, are also allowed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is overseen by the <\/span><b>Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The inputs <\/span><b>imported are exempt from duties like,<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Basic Customs Duty, Additional Customs Duty, Education Cess, Anti-dumping duty, Safeguard Duty and Transition Product-Specific Safeguard duty, Integrated tax, and Compensation Cess, wherever applicable, subject to certain conditions.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An export obligation is usually set as a condition for issuing Advance Authorization.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Advanced Authorization Coverage<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Manufacturer Exporters:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Entities engaged in manufacturing goods for export.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Merchant Exporters tied to Supporting Manufacturer(s):<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Traders who do not manufacture themselves but procure goods from a supporting manufacturer for export.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Advanced Authorization shall be issued for<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Physical exports<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Intermediate supply<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Supplies made to specified categories of deemed exports<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Supply of \u2018stores\u2019 on board <\/span><b>of a foreign-going vessel\/aircraft,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> provided that there are specific Standard Input Output Norms (SION) in respect of items supplied.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Advance Authorization is valid for 12 months<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from the date of issue of such Authorization.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleseDetailm.aspx?PRID=2311960&amp;reg=48&amp;lang=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Advance Authorization Scheme allows duty free import of inputs, which are physically incorporated in an export product.
