{"id":47258,"date":"2026-08-07T12:00:15","date_gmt":"2026-08-07T06:30:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=47258"},"modified":"2026-08-07T14:52:41","modified_gmt":"2026-08-07T09:22:41","slug":"pakal-dul-hydropower-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/pakal-dul-hydropower-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Pakal Dul Hydropower Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Pakal Dul Hydroelectric Project Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A significant industrial dispute involving workers engaged by L&amp;T Construction through subcontractors at the Pakal Dul Hydroelectric Project, Kishtwar, Jammu &amp; Kashmir, has been amicably resolved recently.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Pakal Dul Hydroelectric Project<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>1 GW run-of-the-river scheme<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> hydroelectric project (HEP) under construction in the <\/span><b>Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project is being constructed on the <\/span><b>Marusudar River, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a <\/span><b>tributary of <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/chenab-river\/\" target=\"_blank\">the Chenab<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It comprises a 167 m high<\/span><b> concrete-face rockfill dam <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and an <\/span><b>underground powerhouse.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The underground powerhouse will be equipped with four 250 MW Francis turbine units operating at a net head of 397.3 m.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is anticipated to produce around 3,330 million units of energy a year.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is being constructed by<\/span><b> Chenab Valley Power Projects [P] Ltd.
