Latest News<\/h2>\n<p>In a significant step towards streamlining electoral services, the Election Commission of India (ECI) will be launching a single-point digital platform called ECINET.<\/p>\n<h2>About ECINET<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a\u00a0<strong>single-point digital platform\u00a0<\/strong>being developed\u00a0<strong>by the Election Commission of India\u00a0<\/strong>(ECI).<\/li>\n<li>It is a new user-friendly digital interface\u00a0<strong>for the electors\u00a0<\/strong>and other stakeholders such as the\u00a0<strong>election officials, political parties, and civil society.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It will<strong>\u00a0integrate and reorient over 40 of ECI\u2019s existing\u00a0<\/strong>mobile and web\u00a0<strong>applications<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li>ECINET will subsume existing apps like the Voter Helpline App, Voter Turnout App, cVIGIL, Suvidha 2.0, ESMS, Saksham, and KYC App.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>ECINET will have an\u00a0<strong>aesthetic User Interface (UI) and a simplified User Experience (UX)\u00a0<\/strong>by providing a<strong>\u00a0singular platform for all electoral-related activities.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>This move is also designed to alleviate the burden of the users for downloading and navigating multiple apps and remembering different logins.<\/li>\n<li>ECINET will enable users to access relevant electoral data on their desktops or smartphones.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>data on ECINET\u00a0<\/strong>will be\u00a0<strong>entered solely by the authorized ECI official.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It would\u00a0<strong>ensure that the data<\/strong>\u00a0made available to the stakeholders\u00a0<strong>is as accurate as possible.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>However,<strong>\u00a0in case of any conflict,<\/strong>\u00a0the\u00a0<strong>primary data as duly filled in statutory forms will prevail.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>data\u00a0<\/strong>provided through ECINET will be\u00a0<strong>strictly aligned within the legal framework\u00a0<\/strong>established by the\u00a0<strong>Representation of People Act 1950, 1951, Registration of Electoral Rules 1960,<\/strong>\u00a0Conduct of Election Rules 1961, and instructions issued by ECI from time to time.<\/li>\n<li>ECINET is expected to benefit nearly 100 crore electors and the entire electoral machinery comprising over 10.5 lakh Booth Level Officers (BLOs), around 15 Lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by Political Parties, nearly 45 Lakh Polling Officials, 15,597 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), 4,123 EROs, and 767 District Election
