{"id":47457,"date":"2025-05-11T10:54:15","date_gmt":"2025-05-11T05:24:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=47457"},"modified":"2025-05-29T12:25:03","modified_gmt":"2025-05-29T06:55:03","slug":"national-scheme-for-upgradation-of-industrial-training-institutes-establishment-of-5-national-centres-of-excellence-for-skilling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/national-scheme-for-upgradation-of-industrial-training-institutes-establishment-of-5-national-centres-of-excellence-for-skilling\/","title":{"rendered":"National Scheme for Upgradation of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and the establishment of five National Centres of Excellence (NCOEs) for Skilling"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>National Scheme for Upgradation of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and the establishment of five National Centres of Excellence (NCOEs) for Skilling Latest News<\/h2>\n<p>The Union Cabinet recently approved the National Scheme for Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Upgradation and the Setting up of five (5) National Centres of Excellence for Skilling as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme.<\/p>\n<h2>About National Scheme for Upgradation of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and the establishment of five National Centres of Excellence (NCOEs) for Skilling<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It will be implemented as a\u00a0<strong>Centrally Sponsored Scheme\u00a0<\/strong>with an outlay of Rs.60,000 crore (Central Share: Rs.30,000 crore, State Share: Rs.20,000 crore, and<strong>\u00a0Industry Share: Rs.10,000 crore<\/strong>), with\u00a0<strong>co-financing to the extent of 50% of the Central share by<\/strong>\u00a0the\u00a0<strong>Asian Development Bank and the World Bank,<\/strong>\u00a0equally.<\/li>\n<li>The scheme will focus on<strong>\u00a0upgradation of 1,000 Government ITIs in hub and spoke arrangement<\/strong>\u00a0with industry aligned revamped trades (courses) and\u00a0<strong>Capacity Augmentation of five (5) National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs)<\/strong>, including\u00a0<strong>setting up of five National Centres of Excellence for Skilling in these institutes.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The Scheme aims to\u00a0<strong>position existing ITIs as government-owned, industry-managed<\/strong>\u00a0aspirational institutes of skills, in collaboration with State Governments and industry.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Over a five-year period, 20 lakh youth will be skilled through courses<\/strong>\u00a0that address the human capital needs of industries.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The scheme will focus on ensuring alignment between local workforce supply and industry demand, thereby facilitating industries, including MSMEs, in accessing employment-ready workers.<\/li>\n<li><strong>A need-based investment provision\u00a0<\/strong>has been\u00a0<strong>kept under the scheme, allowing flexibility in fund allocation<\/strong>\u00a0based on the specific infrastructure, capacity, and trade-related requirements of each institution.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>A unique feature of this scheme is the introduction of an\u00a0<strong>industry-led Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) model to oversee ITI upgradation.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>This approach will ensure better industry participation, course alignment, and outcome-driven implementation.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Under the scheme,\u00a0<strong>infrastructure upgradation for improved Training of Trainers (ToT) facilities\u00a0<\/strong>will be undertaken\u00a0<strong>in five NSTIs,\u00a0<\/strong>namely Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kanpur, and Ludhiana.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Additionally,\u00a0<strong>pre-service and in-service training\u00a0<\/strong>will be provided\u00a0<strong>to 50,000 trainers.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>National Scheme for Upgradation of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and the establishment of five National Centres of Excellence (NCOEs) for Skilling FAQs<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Q1<\/strong>.
