{"id":47895,"date":"2025-05-13T14:20:21","date_gmt":"2025-05-13T08:50:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=47895"},"modified":"2025-05-29T12:51:33","modified_gmt":"2025-05-29T07:21:33","slug":"buddhavanam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/buddhavanam\/","title":{"rendered":"Buddhavanam"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Buddhavanam Latest News<\/h2>\n<p>The contestants of Miss World 2025 from 22 countries visited Buddhavanam, a Buddhist theme park, on the occasion of Buddha Purnima recently.<\/p>\n<h2>About Buddhavanam<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a\u00a0<strong>Buddhist theme park<\/strong>\u00a0located on the<strong>\u00a0northern bank of Krishna River in Telangana.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The Government of India has sanctioned the project as\u00a0<strong>part of developing an integrated Buddhist Circuit<\/strong>\u00a0with a vision to attract a large number of domestic and international tourists, particularly from southeast Asia.<\/li>\n<li>It has an extent of 279 acres.<\/li>\n<li>It is developed to\u00a0<strong>showcase the life and teachings of Gautama Buddha.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It features the Entrance plaza,\u00a0<strong>Buddhacharitha Vanam (Life of Buddha)<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Jataka Park\u00a0<\/strong>(which highlights\u00a0<strong>stories from Buddha\u2019s previous lives<\/strong>),\u00a0<strong>Dhyana Vanam for meditation,<\/strong>the\u00a0<strong>Stupa Vanam (<\/strong>home to the imposing\u00a0<strong>Maha Stupa)<\/strong>, and an\u00a0<strong>in-house Buddhist Heritage Museum.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>There are intricate carvings on the drum and dome portions of the Mahastupa and a virtual hanging sky with lotus petals under the sky inside the Mahastupa.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Located just beside Nagarjuna Sagar,<\/strong>\u00a0a reservoir formed due to the construction of the dam across the river Krishna,\u00a0<strong>Nagarjunakonda or Sriparvata &#8211;
