{"id":47924,"date":"2025-05-17T14:50:16","date_gmt":"2025-05-17T09:20:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=47924"},"modified":"2025-05-29T15:32:22","modified_gmt":"2025-05-29T10:02:22","slug":"multi-agency-centre-mac","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/multi-agency-centre-mac\/","title":{"rendered":"Multi Agency Centre (MAC)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Multi Agency Centre Latest News<\/h2>\n<p>Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently inaugurated the revamped Multi Agency Centre (MAC).<\/p>\n<h2>About Multi Agency Centre<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>MAC is a\u00a0<strong>national intelligence-sharing fusion centre under the Intelligence Bureau (IB)\u00a0<\/strong>where states and central agencies and police forces coordinate to share, store,\u00a0<strong>c<\/strong>ollate, and\u00a0<strong>analyse\u00a0<\/strong>i<strong>nputs on terrorismon a daily basis<\/strong>\u00a0under four heads \u2013 J&amp;K, Northeast, LWE, and Rest of India.<\/li>\n<li>It was\u00a0<strong>created in December 2001<\/strong>\u00a0in the\u00a0<strong>aftermath of the Kargil conflict<\/strong>\u00a0but was strengthened in December 2008, following the 26\/11 Mumbai terror attacks.<\/li>\n<li>As many as\u00a0<strong>28 organisations,\u00a0<\/strong>including the Research and Analysis Wing\u00a0<strong>(RAW), armed forces, and State police<\/strong>, are part of the platform, and various security agencies\u00a0<strong>share real-time intelligence inputs<\/strong>\u00a0on MAC.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>new MAC network connects all police districts\u00a0<\/strong>in the country\u00a0<strong>through a secured network<\/strong>\u00a0and has been built at a\u00a0<strong>cost of \u20b9500 crore.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It\u00a0<strong>incorporates\u00a0<\/strong>futuristic capabilities such as embedded\u00a0<strong>artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques<\/strong>\u00a0to harness the potential of the vast database with MAC and<strong>\u00a0Geographic Information System (GIS) services<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The upgraded network will\u00a0<strong>enhance trend analysis, hotspot mapping<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>predictive operations,\u00a0<\/strong>offering more accurate and actionable outcomes.<\/li>\n<li>The new MAC network spanning the length and breadth of the country has\u00a0<strong>weaved-in country\u2019s Island territories, insurgency-affected areas,<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>mountainous high-altitude terrain,<\/strong>\u00a0ensuring last-mile connectivity down to the\u00a0<strong>level of district SPs in the remotest areas<\/strong>\u00a0with a fast and standalone secure network.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>It will strengthen the country\u2019s efforts to\u00a0<strong>tackle\u00a0<\/strong>serious threats like\u00a0<strong>terrorism, extremism, organised crime, and cyberattacks.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Multi Agency Centre FAQs<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Q1<\/strong>.
