{"id":4876,"date":"2023-01-09T10:39:57","date_gmt":"2023-01-09T05:09:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=4876"},"modified":"2025-03-27T02:58:19","modified_gmt":"2025-03-26T21:28:19","slug":"sprint-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/sprint-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"SPRINT Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About SPRINT Scheme:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2018SPRINT\u2019 Scheme is an initiative to <strong>promote development of niche defence technologies by domestic companies.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The task of development of this technology is one of the 75 challenges that have been introduced by the Indian Navy under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav last year.<\/li>\n<li>To achieve \u2018Aatmanirbharta\u2019 in defence, Naval Innovation and Indigenisation Organisation (NIIO), in conjunction with the Defence Innovation Organisation (DIO), aims to induct at least <strong>75 new indigenous technologies\/products<\/strong> into the Indian Navy till august 2023.<\/li>\n<li>This collaborative project is named <strong>SPRINT <\/strong>{Supporting Pole-Vaulting in R&amp;D through Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX)<strong>,<\/strong> NIIO and Technology Development Acceleration Cell (TDAC)}.<\/li>\n<li>It was <strong>launched <\/strong>by Prime Minister in <strong>July, 2022.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It will transform Navy from a \u2018<strong>Buyer\u2019s Navy\u2019 to a \u2018Builder\u2019s Navy.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Naval Innovation and Indigenisation Organisation (NIIO):<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Defence Ministry had launched the NIIO in August 2020, to encourage innovation and indigenisation for self-reliance in defence sector.
