Arunachal Pradesh due to Dibang River flooding.<\/p>\n<h2>About Dibang River<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an important\u00a0<strong>tributary of the Brahmaputra.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It flows through the the\u00a0<strong>upper course\u00a0<\/strong>of the river is located in the\u00a0<strong>Great Himalayan Mountain Range<\/strong>, with its\u00a0<strong>northern and eastern reaches bordering Tibet.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>Mishmi Hills<\/strong>\u00a0is found along the\u00a0<strong>upper courses<\/strong>\u00a0of the Dibang River.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>Mishmi Hills<\/strong>\u00a0is the\u00a0<strong>southward expansion of the Himalayas;<\/strong>\u00a0compose most of the northern part of the region.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>They have an average elevation of 15,000 feet (4,500 m) and are dotted with\u00a0<strong>passes such as Yonggyap\u00a0<\/strong>at 13,000 feet (3,950 m) and\u00a0<strong>Kaya\u00a0<\/strong>at 15,600 feet (4,750 m).\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>After traversing through Arunachal Pradesh, Dibang River e<strong>nters the plains of Assam.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Eventually, it\u00a0<strong>joins the Lohit and Siang rivers,<\/strong>\u00a0which\u00a0<strong>together the\u00a0<strong>Dri, Mathun, Talon, Eme, Ahi, Emra, and Awa.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Dibang Multipurpose Project<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a\u00a0<strong>flood control cum hydroelectric power project<\/strong>\u00a0planned to be developed on the\u00a0<strong>Dibang River,<\/strong>\u00a0a tributary of the Brahmaputra River, in\u00a0<strong>Arunachal Pradesh.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>At 2,880 MW installed capacity, it will be the\u00a0<strong>country\u2019s biggest hydropower facility.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It is being developed by India\u2019s state-run\u00a0<strong>National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The Project is designed as an\u00a0<strong>energy storage project,\u00a0<\/strong>with flood moderation as one of the key objectives, besides power generation.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The project\u00a0<strong>envisages\u00a0<\/strong>the construction of a 278 m-high and 375 m-long c<strong>oncrete gravity dam,\u00a0<\/strong>which\u00a0<strong>will be
