{"id":4940,"date":"2023-01-10T08:02:20","date_gmt":"2023-01-10T02:32:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=4940"},"modified":"2025-03-27T03:20:31","modified_gmt":"2025-03-26T21:50:31","slug":"what-are-digital-television-receivers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/what-are-digital-television-receivers\/","title":{"rendered":"What are Digital television receivers?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Why in news?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The Bureau of Indian Standards has published three significant Indian Standards in the area of Electronics.<\/li>\n<li>The first standard is Indian Standard for digital television receivers with built-in satellite tuners.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The technical Committee has published an Indian Standard IS 18112:2022 Speci\ufb01cation for television with <strong>built-in satellite tuners.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The TVs manufactured as per this Indian standard would enable <strong>reception of Free-To-Air TV and Radio channels<\/strong> just by connecting a dish antenna with LNB mounted on a suitable place, at the rooftop\/side wall of the building.<\/li>\n<li>This would facilitate the transmission of knowledge about government initiatives, schemes, the educational content of Doordarshan and the repository of Indian cultural programs to reach and benefit a wide segment of the population in the country at large.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>What are Digital television receivers?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>In this television in which the <strong>signals<\/strong> are transmitted in <strong>digital form<\/strong> and decoded by the television receiver.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Q1) What is BIS?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Bureau of Indian Standards is the National Standards Body of India under Department of Consumer affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food &amp; Public Distribution, Government of India.
