Menar in Udaipur \u2014 from Rajasthan have been designated as Ramsar sites.<\/p>\n<h2>About Menar Wetland<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a\u00a0<strong>freshwater monsoon wetland<\/strong>\u00a0complex\u00a0<strong>located in Rajasthan.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It is formed by three ponds,\u00a0<strong>Braham talab, Dhand talab and Kheroda talab<\/strong>, and agricultural land that connect the latter two.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>During the monsoon season the farmland floods, providing habitat for species of water birds.<\/li>\n<li>Among the notable bird species at the Site are the\u00a0<strong>critically endangered white-rumped vulture<\/strong>\u00a0(Gyps bengalensis) and\u00a0<strong>long-billed vulture<\/strong>\u00a0(Gyps indicus).<\/li>\n<li>Over 70 plant species are found, including mango trees (Mangifera indica) around Braham talab that host a large colony of\u00a0<strong>Indian flying fox<\/strong>\u00a0(Pteropus giganteus).\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The Site is recognized as one of the best examples of\u00a0<strong>community-led conservation in Rajasthan<\/strong>, with residents of the nearby Menar village playing a key role in conserving wildlife by preventing poaching or fishing.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>About Khichan Wetland<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is located in the\u00a0<strong>northern Thar Desert, Rajasthan.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It comprises two water bodies,\u00a0<strong>Ratri nadi (river) and Vijaysagar talab<\/strong>\u00a0(pond), riparian habitat and scrub land.<\/li>\n<li>This desert ecosystem supports\u00a0<strong>drought-resistant plant species<\/strong>\u00a0that provide habitat for over 150 species of birds.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>It is especially recognized for hosting large wintering flocks of\u00a0<strong>migratory demoiselle cranes<\/strong>\u00a0(Anthropoides virgo), making up over 22,000 individuals each year.<\/li>\n<li>The Site attracts bird-watchers, tourists, students and scientists, drawn primarily by the large
