


{"id":49512,"date":"2025-06-07T13:24:29","date_gmt":"2025-06-07T07:54:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=49512"},"modified":"2025-06-10T10:47:29","modified_gmt":"2025-06-10T05:17:29","slug":"index-cards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/index-cards\/","title":{"rendered":"Index Cards"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Index Cards Latest News<\/h2>\n<p>Recently, the Election Commission of India has streamlined, technology-driven system to generate Index Cards and various statistical reports after the conduct of the elections.<\/p>\n<h2>About Index Cards<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a non-statutory,\u00a0<strong>post-election Statistical Reporting Format<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>It is developed as a suo moto initiative by the\u00a0<strong>Election Commission of India<\/strong>\u00a0(ECI) to promote accessibility of\u00a0<strong>election-related data at the constituency level<\/strong>\u00a0for all stakeholders, including researchers, academia, policymakers, journalists, and the general public.<\/li>\n<li>It is designed to disseminate\u00a0<strong>data across multiple dimensions<\/strong>\u2014such as candidates, electors, votes polled, votes counted, party-wise and candidate-wise vote share, gender-based voting patterns, regional variations, and performance of political parties<\/li>\n<li>The Index Card forms the foundation for generating about\u00a0<strong>35 Statistical Reports<\/strong>\u00a0for Lok Sabha elections and 14 for\u00a0<strong>State Assembly elections.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>These reports cover variables like State\/PC\/AC-wise elector details, number of\u00a0<strong>polling stations, state and constituency-wise voter turnout,<\/strong>\u00a0participation of women electors, performance of\u00a0<strong>national\/state parties<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Registered Unrecognized Political Parties<\/strong>\u00a0(RUPPs).<\/li>\n<li>Earlier,\u00a0<strong>this information was manually filled\u00a0<\/strong>at the Constituency level using various statutory formats in Physical Index Cards.
