


{"id":5044,"date":"2025-01-11T01:45:52","date_gmt":"2025-01-10T20:15:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=5044"},"modified":"2026-01-11T19:36:58","modified_gmt":"2026-01-11T14:06:58","slug":"national-youth-day-upsc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/national-youth-day-upsc\/","title":{"rendered":"National Youth Festival (NYF)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About National Youth Festival (NYF):<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Under<\/strong> the component <strong>\u2018Promotion of National Integration\u2019 of the National Programme for Youth and Adolescent Development (NPYAD),<\/strong> a NYF is organised during the <strong>month of January every year<\/strong> to commemorate the <strong>birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda (12 January)<\/strong>, which is celebrated as <strong>National Youth Day.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Every year since 1985, the Government of India observes January 12 as National Youth Day and the week commencing from that day, as National Youth Week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>NYF<\/strong> is organized<strong> every year from 12th to 16th January.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It is organised by the <strong>Ministry of Youth Affairs &amp; Sports in partnership with one<\/strong> of the <strong>States\/UTs<\/strong> which hosts the NYF.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>expenditure<\/strong> is <strong>shared between the Centre and<\/strong> the <strong>host State<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>During the festival, various cultural programmes (both competitive and non-competitive), Youth convention, Suvichar, Exhibition, Adventure programmes, etc., are organized, and about 7500 youth delegates from different states\/UTs take part in the festival.<\/li>\n<li>Thematic displays are also organized.<\/li>\n<li><strong>NYF 2025:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Theme<\/strong> of NYF 2025 is <strong>Innovation in Science and Technology.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>NYF 2025 main event will be held at <strong>Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Q1: Who was Swami Vivekananda?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Swami Vivekananda (1863 \u2013 1902), born Narendranath Datta,was a Hindu monk and one of the most celebrated spiritual leaders of India. He was the foremost disciple of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhamsa and a world spokesperson for Vedanta. He attempted to combine Indian spirituality with Western material progress, maintaining that the two supplemented and complemented one another. He believed that the path to self-purification is through helping others. Vivekananda represented Hinduism at the 1893 World\u2019s Parliament of Religions convened during the World\u2019s Columbian Exposition in Chicago.
