{"id":5076,"date":"2024-12-24T08:02:56","date_gmt":"2024-12-24T02:32:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=5076"},"modified":"2025-03-27T04:08:07","modified_gmt":"2025-03-26T22:38:07","slug":"youth-colab-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/youth-colab-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Youth Co:Lab"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Youth Co:Lab:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It was <strong>co-created in 2017 by UNDP and Citi Foundation<\/strong>, aims to empower and invest in youth to accelerate the implementation of the <strong>Sustainable Development Goals<\/strong> (SDGs) through leadership, social innovation and entrepreneurship.<\/li>\n<li>In India, Youth Co: Lab was <strong>launched in 2019<\/strong> in collaboration with <strong>Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>As of the end of 2024, Youth Co:Lab has conducted <strong>six national theme-specific youth social innovation and entrepreneurship<\/strong> dialogues in India through this collaboration.<\/li>\n<li>This year, the Youth Co: Lab National Innovation Challenge 2024-2025, held in collaboration with AssisTech Foundation (ATF).\n<ul>\n<li>It will focus on empowering young entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs with disabilities innovating for solutions that \u201cEnhance access to opportunities and well-being of Persons with Disabilities\u201d, across the following <strong>sub-categories<\/strong>: <strong>Inclusive and Accessible Assistive Technology<\/strong> (AT), <strong>Inclusive Educational Technology and Skilling <\/strong>Solutions and Accessible and Inclusive Care Models.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key facts about Atal Innovation Mission(AIM)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a flagship initiative set up by the <strong>NITI Aayog in 2016.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Objective:<\/strong> To create and <strong>encourage an environment of innovation and entrepreneurship<\/strong> across schools, educational organisations, research institutes, and industries, including MSMEs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Functions<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Promote entrepreneurship by encouraging innovators to become entrepreneurs through financial support as well as mentorship.<\/li>\n<li>Promote innovation by creating a platform where ideas are generated through like-minded individuals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>AIM has created <strong>four programs<\/strong> to support these functions: Atal Tinkering Labs, Atal Incubation Centres, Atal New India Challenges and Atal Grand Challenges.<\/li>\n<li>All the initiatives of AIM are currently monitored and managed systematically using real-time <strong>MIS systems and dynamic dashboards.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>AIM is also currently having its <strong>programs reviewed<\/strong> by <strong>third party agencies<\/strong> for ensuring continuous improvements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1: What is NITI Aayog?<\/h3>\n<p>\u00a0The National Institution for Transforming India, established on January 1, 2015, is the policy think tank of the Indian government, replacing the Planning Commission. It focuses on inclusive development, cooperative federalism, and sustainable growth.
