The city showed balanced strength across domains such as learning outcomes, infrastructure, and equity.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following Chandigarh, ten other States and UTs were placed in <\/span><b><i>Prachesta-3<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (scores between 581-640), including:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Punjab<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Delhi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Gujarat<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Kerala<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Odisha<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Goa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Haryana<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Maharashtra<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Rajasthan<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Dadra and Nagar Haveli &amp; Daman and Diu<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These regions demonstrated consistent performance in indicators such as access to education, infrastructure development, and educational governance.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Bottom-Ranked and Lagging States<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Meghalaya<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> scored the lowest in the PGI 2.0 with 417 points and was the only State placed in the lowest performance level, <\/span><b><i>Akanshi-3<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (401-460 score bracket).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other States such as Bihar, Assam, Telangana, Jharkhand, Tripura, Manipur, Chhattisgarh, and the Northeastern States (Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh) also performed poorly, falling into the <\/span><b><i>Akanshi-2<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> category (scores between 461-520).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These States struggled primarily with issues related to student retention, basic infrastructure, and governance-related challenges.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Middle Performers and Average Scores<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fourteen States and UTs, including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh, were placed in the <\/span><b><i>Akanshi-1<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> category, scoring between 521-580.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These regions performed moderately well but still have considerable scope for improvement, especially in learning outcomes and teacher training.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>States Showing Highest Improvements<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The PGI 2.0 also highlighted the States that made the most significant improvements over the previous year (2022-23):<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Bihar and Telangana<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> showed the <\/span><b>most progress in access to education<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with enhancements in student enrolment, retention rates, and transition to higher grades.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Delhi, Jammu &amp; Kashmir, and Telangana<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> made <\/span><b>notable improvements in school infrastructure<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with better availability of drinking water, electricity, clean toilets, and digital learning tools.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These gains demonstrate the effectiveness of targeted interventions and public investments in school systems in underperforming regions.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>PGI Methodology and Grading System<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The PGI 2.0 assigns scores based on weighted indicators.
