\u201dincluding <\/span><b>policy briefs, best practices, and gender-\u2018disaggregated data<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8212; \u201dto <\/span><b>support the integration of a gender lens into <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">all stages of <\/span><b>planning and budgeting<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>both at the Central and state levels.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The portal will equip stakeholders with <\/span><b>evidence-based tools <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to better integrate gender perspectives into planning and budgeting.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Gender Budgeting in India<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gender budgeting is a tool for gender mainstreaming, <\/span><b>applying a gender lens to the entire policy process.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It involves g<\/span><b>ender-sensitive formulation, resource allocation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and continuous <\/span><b>monitoring <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to address vulnerabilities faced by women throughout their life cycle.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India adopted its <\/span><b>first gender budget in 2005-06,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> marking a significant step towards addressing gender disparities in resource allocation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over the <\/span><b>past 11 years, gender budget allocations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have <\/span><b>increased by four and a half times<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013from Rs. 0.98 lakh crore in 2014-15 to <\/span><b>Rs. 4.49 lakh crore in 2025-26.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>How is gender budgeting implemented?<\/b>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><b>Nodal authorities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>including the Ministry of Women and Child Development<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at the central level, <\/span><b>spearhead gender budgeting implementation.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Departments of Women and Child Development\/Social Welfare, Finance,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or Planning Department are also responsible for gender budget<\/span><b> implementation in states and Union territories.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>District subs for Empowerment of Women <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are also <\/span><b>active in states and Union territories<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to coordinate and fulfil the objectives of schemes. <\/span><\/li>\n<li>These hubs are also required to have <b style=\"font-size: inherit;\">at least one gender specialist.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ptinews.com\/story\/national\/Centre-launches-Gender-Budgeting-Knowledge-Hub-to-promote-inclusive-growth\/2657791\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PTI<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gender Budgeting Knowledge Hub is a digital platform promoting gender-responsive planning and budgeting practices across India for inclusive development.
