


{"id":51173,"date":"2025-06-21T12:18:16","date_gmt":"2025-06-21T06:48:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=51173"},"modified":"2025-06-21T14:34:44","modified_gmt":"2025-06-21T09:04:44","slug":"energy-transition-index-by-wef","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/energy-transition-index-by-wef\/","title":{"rendered":"Energy Transition Index by WEF"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Energy Transition Index Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India has been ranked 71st on a global Energy Transition Index (ETI) released by the World Economic Forum.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Energy Transition Index<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is released by the <\/span><b>World Economic Forum.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A country\u2019s final ETI score is a weighted composite of two sub-indices: system performance (60%) and transition readiness (40%).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">System performance is evenly distributed <\/span><b>across equity, security and sustainability dimensions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, while <\/span><b>transition readiness<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is divided into two categories: <\/span><b>core enablers and enabling factors.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Core enablers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> include regulation and political commitment as well as finance and investment, while <\/span><b>enabling factors<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> encompass innovation, infrastructure and education and human capital.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Key Highlights of Energy Transition Index 2025<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ETI 2025 offers a comparative framework with which to <\/span><b>assess national energy systems<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and track energy transition progress.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Sweden topped <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the list of 118 countries, followed by Finland, Denmark, Norway and Switzerland in the top five.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">China was ranked 12th, the US was 17th and Pakistan at 101st place.
