Demand<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Evaporative demand is a <\/span><b>measure of how thirsty the atmosphere is.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It determines the <\/span><b>near-maximum of how much water will evaporate<\/b> <b>from a given piece of land if sufficient water is available.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It does<\/span><b> not necessarily relate to actual evaporation rate<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, as if there is little water supply there can only be a small evaporation rate, no matter how large the demand.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>driven by atmospheric factor<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">s including <\/span><b>temperature, wind speed, humidity and cloud cover.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Periods of <\/span><b>high evaporative 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While heat waves are caused by particular temperature and wind patterns, a thirstwave is the<\/span><b> product of temperature, humidity, solar radiation, and wind speed.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When temperatures rise, the consequences include more heat as well as
