{"id":51916,"date":"2025-06-26T11:43:18","date_gmt":"2025-06-26T06:13:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=51916"},"modified":"2025-06-26T13:41:30","modified_gmt":"2025-06-26T08:11:30","slug":"international-potato-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/international-potato-centre\/","title":{"rendered":"International Potato Centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>International Potato Centre Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Union Cabinet has approved a proposal from the Department of Agriculture &amp; Farmers Welfare to establish the International Potato Centre (CIP)\u2019s South Asia Regional Centre (CSARC) at Agra, Uttar Pradesh.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About International Potato Centre<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was founded in 1971 as a <\/span><b>research-for-development organization<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with a focus on <\/span><b>potato, sweetpotato and Andean roots and tubers.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It delivers innovative science-based solutions to enhance access to affordable nutritious food, foster inclusive sustainable business and employment growth, and drive the climate resilience of <\/span><b>root and tuber agri-food systems.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CIP is a <\/span><b>CGIAR research center, a global research<\/b> <b>partnership <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for a food-secure future.
