They are termed\u00a0<i>fundamental<\/i>\u00a0for three primary reasons:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>They are explicitly written in the Constitution.<\/li>\n<li>They uphold democratic principles.<\/li>\n<li>They are justiciable, meaning individuals can seek enforcement through courts.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>These rights are enshrined in\u00a0<strong>Part III of the Indian Constitution<\/strong>, spanning Articles 14 to 35. If these rights are violated, individuals can approach the courts for protection.<\/p>\n<p>The Indian Constitution guarantees six Fundamental Rights to its citizens:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Right to Equality<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Right to Freedom<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Right against Exploitation<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Right to Freedom of Religion<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Cultural and Educational Rights<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Right to Constitutional Remedies<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Fundamental Duties<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Just as citizens enjoy Fundamental Rights, they also have Fundamental Duties. These duties call for active participation in the governance of the country by embracing responsibilities and fulfilling citizenship obligations. Fundamental Duties are outlined in\u00a0<strong>Article 51A of the Indian Constitution<\/strong>\u00a0and are embedded within various laws.<\/p>\n<p>The Fundamental Duties of Indian citizens include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Upholding and abiding by the values of the Indian Constitution.<\/li>\n<li>Showing respect to the National Flag and National Anthem.<\/li>\n<li>Preserving the sovereignty, unity, and integrity of the country.<\/li>\n<li>Promoting national harmony and fostering a spirit of brotherhood.<\/li>\n<li>Protecting and enhancing the natural environment, including forests, rivers, lakes, and wildlife.<\/li>\n<li>Respecting and upholding the dignity of women.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrating compassion for living beings.<\/li>\n<li>Safeguarding public property and renouncing violence.<\/li>\n<li>Providing educational opportunities to children aged 6\u201314 years, as a parental or guardian duty.<\/li>\n<li>Cultivating scientific temper, humanism, and a spirit of inquiry and reform.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Difference from Fundamental Rights:<\/strong>\u00a0Unlike Fundamental Rights,\u00a0<strong>Fundamental Duties are non-justiciable<\/strong>, meaning citizens cannot approach courts to enforce these duties in case of non-compliance.<\/p>\n<table style=\"border-collapse: collapse;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr style=\"height: 25px;\">\n<td class=\"tb-color\" style=\"width: 98.7976%;
