With an abundance of food available, jellyfish have been able to <\/span><b>increase their population substantially.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Overfishing:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 Recently various kinds of species, such as tuna and sea turtles, that prey on jellyfish have been removed from the ecosystem. These species also feed on plankton, and with their reduced population, jellyfish have more plankton to consume and thrive unchecked.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Plastic Pollution:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Unlike other marine creatures, <\/span><b>jellyfish can tolerate low oxygen levels<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in water, which is a consequence of pollution.
