


{"id":52583,"date":"2025-06-30T13:51:08","date_gmt":"2025-06-30T08:21:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=52583"},"modified":"2025-06-30T13:51:08","modified_gmt":"2025-06-30T08:21:08","slug":"gps-interference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/gps-interference\/","title":{"rendered":"GPS Interference"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>GPS Interference Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, three mishaps in recent years had a common cause of GPS interference which has emerged as one of the biggest challenges for seafaring vessels and aircraft.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About GPS Interference<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It refers to <\/span><b>spoofing or jamming<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, two types of deliberate cyber-attacks <\/span><b>on Global Positioning System (GPS) signals,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which disrupt or deceive vehicles\u2019 navigation systems.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While both are often used synonymously with each other, spoofing and jamming refer to slightly different kinds of interference.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>GPS jamming, also known as GPS intervention,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> involves a device (jammer) emitting strong radio signals on <\/span><b>GPS frequencies in order to overpower weaker signals<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
