Students Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The CBSE recently announced the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students (CSSS) for the academic year 2025-26, inviting applications from eligible students via the National Scholarship Portal, scholarships.gov.in.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>About Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><b>Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan (PM-USP) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students&#8221; is a scholarship scheme by the <\/span><b>Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The primary objective of the scheme is to provide <\/span><b>financial assistance to meritorious students from poor familie<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">s to <\/span><b>meet a part of their day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher studies.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scholarships are awarded <\/span><b>based on the results of the Higher Secondary\/Class 12th <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Board Examination.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Allocation of Scholarships<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A maximum of <\/span><b>82,000 fresh scholarships (41,000 for boys and 41,000 for girls) per annum<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are provided for pursuing<\/span><b> Graduate\/ Postgraduate degrees<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in colleges and universities and for professional courses, such as medical, engineering, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The total number of <\/span><b>scholarships <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is <\/span><b>divided amongst the State Education Boards based on the State&#8217;s population<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the <\/span><b>age group of 18-25 years,<\/b> <b>after segregating the share of CBSE and ICSE <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">on the basis of the number of students passing out from various Boards in the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The number of <\/span><b>scholarships allotted to a State Education Board <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is <\/span><b>distributed amongst pass-outs of the Science, Commerce, and Humanities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> streams in the ratio of <\/span><b>3:2:1. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In case of a shortfall in the number of applications, the scholarship slots could be interchanged.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Benefits: Rate of Scholarship<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>\u20b912,000\/- per annum at the graduation level for the first three years of college and university courses.<\/b><b><\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>\u20b920,000 per annum<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at the <\/span><b>post-graduation level.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>\u20b920,000\/- per annum in the 4th and 5th years<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to the students pursuing professional courses, in cases <\/span><b>where the duration of the course is five (5) years\/integrated courses.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Students pursuing technical courses <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">such as B.Tech, B.Engg. will get a scholarship up to graduation level only i.e. \u20b912,000 p.a. for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd years and <\/span><b>\u20b920,000 in the 4th year.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">The scholarship will be disbursed directly into the savings bank accounts of the beneficiaries through <b style=\"font-size: inherit;\">Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Eligibility<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>applicant must be pursuing regular degree courses.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The applicant must be pursuing courses <\/span><b>at colleges\/institutions recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the <\/span><b>respective regulatory bodies<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> concerned.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The gross parental\/<\/span><b>family income<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the applicant should <\/span><b>not exceed \u20b9450,000\/- per annum.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>For renewal of scholarship in each year <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of study, besides getting at least <\/span><b>50% marks in the Annual Examination,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> maintenance of <\/span><b>adequate attendance<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> should be <\/span><b>at least 75%.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The students are required to <\/span><b>have bank accounts opened<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, especially in their name.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Application must be verified by the student\u2019s institution:\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CBSE has made it clear that all applications must be verified by the student\u2019s college or university.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If required, students must <\/span><b>show their original documents<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to their institution.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Without verification,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the <\/span><b>application will be considered invalid.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Exclusions<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Students <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">who are <\/span><b>pursuing correspondence or distance mode<\/b> <b>or pursuing diploma courses <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are not eligible.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Students who are <b style=\"font-size: inherit;\">already availing the benefit from any other scholarship<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> schemes, including state-run
