{"id":5348,"date":"2022-12-29T09:53:39","date_gmt":"2022-12-29T04:23:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=5348"},"modified":"2025-03-27T05:47:51","modified_gmt":"2025-03-27T00:17:51","slug":"integrated-road-accident-database-irad-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/integrated-road-accident-database-irad-system\/","title":{"rendered":"Integrated Road Accident Database (iRAD) System"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Why in news?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>As per the report, there were 4,12,432 unfortunate incidences of road accidents during 2021 which claimed 1, 53,972 lives and caused injuries to 3, 84,448 persons.<\/li>\n<li>This report has been developed by reporting, management, claim processing and analysis of road accident data by <strong>using the Integrated Road Accident Database (iRAD) system.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>What is iRAD?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an initiative of <strong>the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH)<\/strong> and is <strong>funded by World Bank<\/strong>, to improve road safety in the country.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>This will facilitate road accident data collection by <strong>4 stakeholder departments<\/strong>; Police, Transport, Highways and Health Departments.<\/li>\n<li>Through a collection of road accident data from all over the country, a road accident database will be developed. The collected data will be analysed using different data analytics techniques for the identification of accident-prone areas and the causes of the accidents.<\/li>\n<li>The analysis output will be represented in appropriate dashboards, access to higher authorities of stakeholder departments and MoRTH.
