This scheme replaces the existing Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana. The name of the scheme is inspired by political thinker Deen Dayal Upadhyaya. The government also aims to resolve the problems related to rural electrification by fixing electricity meters all over rural India. In support of the rural electrification programme launched by government of India in 2014, launched Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>DDUGJY Objectives\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The objectives of Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana include:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Supply electricity to all villages\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Feeder separation to make sure that all farmers and other consumers receive sufficient power supply.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Improve sub-transmissions of electricity and distribution networks to improve quality and reliability of supply.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Measuring to reduce losses.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana Features\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following are the features of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Separating agriculture and non-agriculture feeders.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sub-transmission strengthening and augmentation and distribution of infrastructure in rural areas including metering of distribution transformers feeders\/consumers.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rural electrification as per CCEA approval to complete targets laid down under RGGVY.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make sure rapid electrification and feeder separation.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Strengthen rural distribution infrastructure.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Monitor progress for smooth and fast implementation of electrification.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Grameen Vidyut Abhiyantas (GVAs): Ensuring Accountability in Rural Electrification<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To ensure transparent and effective implementation of rural electrification efforts, the Central Government has deployed Grameen Vidyut Abhiyanta (GVAs)\u2014rural electrification engineers appointed from within the same regions they serve.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These GVAs play a crucial role in real-time monitoring of the electrification process.
