


{"id":5412,"date":"2022-12-05T10:35:57","date_gmt":"2022-12-05T05:05:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=5412"},"modified":"2025-03-27T08:22:12","modified_gmt":"2025-03-27T02:52:12","slug":"assam-project-on-forest-and-biodiversity-conservation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/assam-project-on-forest-and-biodiversity-conservation\/","title":{"rendered":"Assam Project on Forest and Biodiversity Conservation"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>What is Assam Project on Forest and biodiversity Conservation?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Kaziranga project<\/strong> is a part of a larger Assam Project on Forest and Biodiversity Conservation (APFBC) for which the <strong>Agence Fran\u00e7aise de D\u00e9veloppement (AFD<\/strong>) has committed funding of \u20ac80.2 million for a 10-year period, between 2014-2024.<\/li>\n<li>The project conceptualised <strong>the reforestation of 33,500 hectares of land<\/strong> and the training of 10,000 community members in alternate livelihoods by 2024.<\/li>\n<li>APFBC Society was <strong>created by State Government of Assam as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) <\/strong>registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.<\/li>\n<li>The Society has the mandate for planning, implementation, monitoring, coordination and management of all the activities proposed under the project.<\/li>\n<li>With French and Indian technical and financial support, the <strong>Indo-Pacific Parks Partnership <\/strong>will facilitate partnership activities for interested natural parks of the Indo-Pacific region.
