{"id":54216,"date":"2025-07-10T11:13:42","date_gmt":"2025-07-10T05:43:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=54216"},"modified":"2025-07-10T13:58:14","modified_gmt":"2025-07-10T08:28:14","slug":"nistar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/nistar\/","title":{"rendered":"Nistar"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Nistar Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the \u2018Nistar\u2019 vessel was delivered by Hindustan Shipyard Limited to the Indian Navy at Visakhapatnam.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Nistar<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the first indigenously designed and constructed <\/span><b>Diving Support Vessel.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ship\u2019s name, \u2018Nistar\u2019, originates from Sanskrit and means <\/span><b>liberation, rescue or salvation.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The warship has been designed and built as per classification rules of the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ship is highly specialised and can <\/span><b>undertake Deep Sea Diving and Rescue Operations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 a capability with select Navies across the globe.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Features of Nistar<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ship, measuring 118 m with a <\/span><b>tonnage of nearly 10,000 tons<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, is installed with state-of-the-art Diving Equipment and has the capability to <\/span><b>undertake Deep Sea Saturation <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Diving up to <\/span><b>300 m depth.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ship also has a <\/span><b>Side Diving Stage <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for undertaking Diving Operations up to 75 m depth.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ship will also <\/span><b>serve as the \u2018Mother Ship\u2019 for the Deep Submergence Rescue Vessel<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (DSRV), to rescue and evacuate personnel, in case of an emergency in a submarine underwater.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ship is equipped with a combination of Remotely Operated Vehicles to undertake Diver Monitoring and Salvage Operations up to a <\/span><b>depth of 1000 m.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It contains nearly 75% indigenous content, is yet another milestone in the Indian Navy\u2019s quest for indigenous construction and is in line with the GoI\u2019s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and the Make in India campaign.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2143335\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PIB<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nistar is India\u2019s first indigenously designed and built Diving Support Vessel, enhancing underwater operations and naval self-reliance.
