Pradhan Mantri Mentorships\u2019s program for Young writers, YUVA Scheme has been launched by the Ministry of Education on 29 May 2021 to train young authors. This scheme was introduced to train 75 creative and aspiring writers who are below the age of 30 who can project India and its culture and literature worldwide to promote \u201cEk Bharat Shrestha Bharat\u201d. These 75 authors were selected via an All India Contest at MyGov (Government of India\u2019s Citizen Engagement Platform). Participants were provided with a scholarship of Rs. 50,000 per month for a period of six months per author.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yuva Scheme Objectives<\/b><\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. To bring the authorship, writing profession equivalent to other fast pacing careers.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. To provide a positive psychological push towards the minds of young writers after the pandemic of Covid-19.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Yuva Scheme Features<\/b><\/h2>\n
      \n
    1. The scheme was designed for writers below 30 years of age, nurturing emerging authors with a focus on India’s national movement, the role of lesser-known places in the freedom struggle.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. 75 selected writers through a manuscript competition in 22 scheduled languages<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Provides guidance and scholarship of \u20b950,000 per month for six months to develop manuscripts into books.<\/span><\/li>\n
    4. Offers royalty of 10% on book sales, encouraging financial support and acknowledgment.<\/span><\/li>\n
    5. Translates selected books into multiple Indian languages to promote \u2018Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.\u2019<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Yuva Scheme Implementation<\/b><\/h2>\n

      Yuva Scheme was implemented in two different stages by the National Book Trust (NBT) under the Ministry of Education:<\/span><\/p>\n

      Stage 1: Training<\/b><\/h3>\n
        \n
      • Objective: <\/b>Provide training to selected candidates with essential writing skills.<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Duration: <\/b>A three-month training program to enhance their knowledge.<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Activities: <\/b>Workshops, interactive sessions, and expert guidance to help candidates with their manuscript development and storytelling abilities.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Stage 2: Promotion<\/b><\/h3>\n
          \n
        • Selected authors got a chance to become a part of the below mentioned events to gain insights for their writing abilities:<\/span>\n
            \n
          • Literary festivals<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Book fairs (including virtual events)<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Cultural exchange programs<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Other international and national literary platforms.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
