{"id":54558,"date":"2025-12-12T11:14:52","date_gmt":"2025-12-12T05:44:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=54558"},"modified":"2025-12-12T15:26:44","modified_gmt":"2025-12-12T09:56:44","slug":"sanchar-mitra-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/sanchar-mitra-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"Sanchar Mitra Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Sanchar Mitra Scheme Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha recently, the Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development said that 222 institutions are currently participating in the Sanchar Mitra Scheme.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Sanchar Mitra Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>youth-oriented initiative<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by the <\/span><b>Department of Telecommunications (DoT), <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ministry of Communications.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is aimed at harnessing the energy and potential of <\/span><b>young students to spread awareness about safe digital behaviour.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under this scheme, <\/span><b>student volunteers,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> named as <\/span><b>Sanchar Mitra<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, will <\/span><b>raise public awareness about mobile safety, telecom fraud prevention<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and g<\/span><b>overnment digital initiatives.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They will conduct <\/span><b>outreach in communities, schools, and public spaces<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to educate citizens on responsible and secure use of telecom services.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This scheme is <\/span><b>open to students from <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">those <\/span><b>technical institutes that have active telecom, electronics, computers, cybersecurity, or similar programs <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and have agreed to participate in the scheme.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sanchar Mitras will <\/span><b>receive necessary training from experts<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>from the National Communications Academy-Technology (NCA-T).\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Sanchar Mitras will receive various training on subjects like cybersecurity, emerging technologies in the telecom sector, telecom policies and regulations, etc.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scheme <\/span><b>offers top performers,<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">access, on a best-effort basis, <\/span><b>to research and development (R&amp;D) projects<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>telecom start-ups;<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>involvement in policy and standards work;<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>participation in field surveys and DoT initiatives;<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>exposure to national conferences <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and events.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recognition and <\/span><b>incentives will be coordinated through DoT units, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">leveraging existing resources and partnerships.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scheme has been <\/span><b>implemented across all states\/UTs through<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the licensed service area <\/span><b>(LSA) field offices of DoT. <\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source:<\/b> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2201567&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sanchar Mitra Scheme is a youth-oriented initiative by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications.
