{"id":54558,"date":"2026-08-13T12:14:52","date_gmt":"2026-08-13T06:44:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=54558"},"modified":"2026-08-13T12:53:18","modified_gmt":"2026-08-13T07:23:18","slug":"sanchar-mitra-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/sanchar-mitra-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"Sanchar Mitra Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>About Sanchar Mitra Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It envisions engaging the <\/span><b>Yuva Shakti- India\u2019s youth<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, as catalysts for digital empowerment and societal outreach.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is aimed at <\/span><b>harnessing the energy and potential<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of young students to spread awareness about safe digital behaviour.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Working<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under this scheme, <\/span><b>student volunteers, named as Sanchar Mitra,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will raise public awareness about mobile safety, telecom fraud prevention, and government digital initiatives.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They will conduct outreach in communities, schools, and public spaces to educate citizens on responsible and secure use of telecom services.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is open to students from those technical institutes that have <\/span><b>active telecom, electronics, computers, cybersecurity, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">or similar programs and have agreed to participate in the scheme.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Sanchar Mitras will receive necessary training<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from experts and from the National Communications Academy-Technology (NCA-T).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Sanchar Mitras will receive various training on subjects like <\/span><b>cybersecurity, emerging technologies <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the telecom sector, telecom policies and regulations, etc.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>scheme offers top performers<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Access, on a best-effort basis, to research and development (R&amp;D) projects and telecom start-ups;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Involvement in policy and standards work;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participation in field surveys and DoT initiatives;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Exposure to national conferences and events.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scheme has been implemented across all states\/UTs through the <\/span><b>licensed service area (LSA) field offices of DoT.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Nodal Ministry:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2298552&amp;reg=48&amp;lang=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sanchar Mitra Scheme is a youth-oriented initiative by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications.
