{"id":54943,"date":"2025-07-15T16:16:07","date_gmt":"2025-07-15T10:46:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=54943"},"modified":"2025-07-15T16:18:34","modified_gmt":"2025-07-15T10:48:34","slug":"pradhan-mantri-divyasha-kendra","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/pradhan-mantri-divyasha-kendra\/","title":{"rendered":"Pradhan Mantri Divyasha Kendra"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Pradhan Mantri Divyasha Kendra Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Union Ministry of Social Justice &amp; Empowerment, Government of India, is set to inaugurate the 75th Pradhan Mantri Divyasha Kendra (PMDK) at Government Medical College, Badaun, Uttar Pradesh.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Pradhan Mantri Divyasha Kendra<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>unique initiative aimed<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at providing <\/span><b>integrated services under one roof<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014including assessment, evaluation, counselling, distribution, and post-distribution care\u2014for eligible <\/span><b>Divyangjan <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(persons with disabilities)<\/span> <b>and elderly beneficiaries.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These centres are being <\/span><b>established through ALIMCO<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India), a Central Public Sector Undertaking under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The newly established PMDK at Badaun would provide assistive aids and appliances under the ADIP Scheme for Divyangjan and the <\/span><b>Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (RVY) for senior citizens.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Devices such as tricycles, wheelchairs, hearing aids, walkers, artificial limbs, and mobility support accessories would be offered <\/span><b>free of cost to eligible beneficiaries.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The initiative has already benefited over 1.40 lakh individuals with assistive devices worth more than \u20b9179.15 lakh.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Significance:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It significantly reduces the travel and logistical challenges faced by local beneficiaries, offering them accessible, dignified, and timely services at the regional level.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2144523#:~:text\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PIB<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pradhan Mantri Divyasha Kendra offers integrated services like assessment, counselling, assistive device distribution, and follow-up care for persons with disabilities.
