


{"id":55145,"date":"2025-07-18T12:45:49","date_gmt":"2025-07-18T07:15:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=55145"},"modified":"2025-07-18T13:01:02","modified_gmt":"2025-07-18T07:31:02","slug":"swachh-survekshan-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/swachh-survekshan-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 Awards Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">President of India recently conferred Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 Awards at Vigyan Bhagwan, New Delhi hosted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA). <\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>About Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 Awards<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Marking its <\/span><b>9th edition<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/swachh-survekshan-2024-25-ahmedabad-tops-as-indias-cleanest-city\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Swachh Survekshan 2024-25<\/strong><\/a> is the world&#8217;s largest urban cleanliness survey and a key <\/span><b>pillar of the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Highlights<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In total, <\/span><b>78 awards were presented, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">recognising cities, cantonments, and institutions for their exemplary performance across a range of sanitation parameters.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Indore, Surat, and Navi Mumbai <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">have once again secured the <\/span><b>top spots <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in urban sanitation, emerging as the <\/span><b>cleanest citie<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">s in the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 rankings.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The three cities were ranked <\/span><b>first, second, and third, respectively,<\/b> <b>in the newly introduced \u201cSuper Swachh League,\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which recognises sustained excellence in cleanliness. Vijayawada followed closely, securing the fourth position.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This year\u2019s Swachh Survekshan introduced a <\/span><b>simplified and inclusive assessment framework<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>enabling smaller cities to compete <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">on <\/span><b>equal footing with larger counterparts <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">under the principle of \u201c<\/span><b>One City, One Award.\u201d\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a result, <\/span><b>34 cities from various States and Union Territories were declared Promising Swachh Shehars<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for their notable progress in sanitation and urban cleanliness.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Ahmedabad, Bhopal, and Lucknow<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> were declared the <\/span><b>new generation of top clean cities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, emerging as<\/span><b> India\u2019s leading Swachh Shehars.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Prayagraj <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was honoured as the <\/span><b>Best Ganga Town,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> while Secunderabad Cantonment Board was awarded for its strong sanitation efforts.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Visakhapatnam, Jabalpur, and Gorakhpur<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> received recognition as the <\/span><b>Best SafaiMitra Surakshit Shehars<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for prioritising the safety, dignity, and welfare of sanitation workers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A <\/span><b>special award<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was conferred upon the<\/span><b> Government of Uttar Pradesh,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the <\/span><b>Prayagraj Mela Adhikari<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and the <\/span><b>Municipal Corporation of Prayagraj <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for <\/span><b>successfully managing urban waste during the Mahakumbh<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which saw a record footfall of approximately 66 crore people.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2145461\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PIB<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Swachh Survekshan Award is an annual survey of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation in cities and towns across India, launched as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
