{"id":5644,"date":"2022-12-12T11:36:11","date_gmt":"2022-12-12T06:06:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=5644"},"modified":"2025-03-27T10:04:21","modified_gmt":"2025-03-27T04:34:21","slug":"mahakavi-subramanian-bharathiyar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/mahakavi-subramanian-bharathiyar\/","title":{"rendered":"Mahakavi Subramanian Bharathiyar"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>\u00a0<strong>About Mahakavi Subramanian Bharathiyar:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Mahakavi Subramanian Bharathiyar was a Tamil writer, poet, journalist, Indian independence activist, social reformer and polyglot.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>He was bestowed the title &#8220;Bharathi&#8221; for his excellence in poetry.<\/li>\n<li>Bharathiyar fought for the emancipation of women, against child marriage, vehemently opposed the caste system.<\/li>\n<li>Sister Nivedita inspired Bharathi to recognise the privileges of women and the emancipation of women exercised Bharathi&#8217;s mind.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Literary works:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Bharathi joined as Assistant Editor of the Swadesamitran a Tamil daily in 1904.<\/li>\n<li>In1907, he started editing the <strong>Tamil weekly India <\/strong>and the <strong>English newspaper Bala Bharatham <\/strong>with M.P.T.
