{"id":5652,"date":"2022-12-12T06:03:14","date_gmt":"2022-12-12T00:33:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=5652"},"modified":"2025-03-27T10:07:26","modified_gmt":"2025-03-27T04:37:26","slug":"ind-indo-corpat-exercise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/ind-indo-corpat-exercise\/","title":{"rendered":"IND-INDO CORPAT Exercise"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About <\/strong><strong>IND-INDO CORPAT Exercise<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>India and Indonesia have been carrying out CORPATs <strong>twice a year since 2002.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Aim<\/strong>: Keeping the vital part of the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) safe and secure for commercial shipping, international trade and conduct of legitimate maritime activities.<\/li>\n<li>CORPATs help build understanding and interoperability between navies, and facilitate institution of measures to prevent and suppress Illegal Unreported Unregulated (IUU) fishing, drug trafficking, maritime terrorism, armed robbery and piracy.<\/li>\n<li>It helps to enhance the operational synergy by exchange of information for prevention of smuggling, illegal immigration and for conduct of Search and Rescue (SAR) operations at sea.<\/li>\n<li>As part of Government of India\u2019s vision <strong>SAGAR<\/strong> (Security And Growth for All in the Region), Indian Navy has been proactively engaging with countries in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) to enhance maritime security in the region.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Q1) What is\u2019 SAGAR\u2019?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>India\u2019s strategic strategy for the Indian Ocean, titled \u201cSecurity and Growth for All in the Region,&#8221; was announced in 2015. India\u2019s goal with SAGAR is to strengthen economic and security connections with its maritime neighbours while also assisting in the development of their maritime security capabilities.
