


{"id":56550,"date":"2025-07-24T12:07:39","date_gmt":"2025-07-24T06:37:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=56550"},"modified":"2025-07-24T15:38:45","modified_gmt":"2025-07-24T10:08:45","slug":"financial-inclusion-index","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/financial-inclusion-index\/","title":{"rendered":"Financial Inclusion Index"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Financial Inclusion Index Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Reserve Bank of India has informed that the Financial Inclusion Index of the FI index for Financial Year 2025 has improved and stands at 67 percent as compared to 64.2 percent for FY 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Financial Inclusion Index<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The FI-Index has been conceptualised as a <\/span><b>comprehensive index<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> incorporating details of <\/span><b>banking, investments, insurance<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>postal<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as well as the pension sector in consultation with Government and respective sectoral regulators.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The index captures information on various aspects of financial inclusion in a single value <\/span><b>ranging between 0 and 100,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> where 0 represents complete financial exclusion and 100 indicates full financial inclusion.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Parameters:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The FI-Index comprises three<\/span><b> broad parameters<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> viz., <\/span><b>Access <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(35%), <\/span><b>Usage<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (45%), and <\/span><b>Quality <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(20%) with each of these consisting of various dimensions, which are computed based on a number of indicators.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Index is responsive to ease of access, availability and usage of services, and quality of services, <\/span><b>comprising in all 97 indicators.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A unique feature of the Index is the <\/span><b>Quality parameter which captures the quality<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> aspect of financial inclusion as reflected by financial literacy, consumer protection, and inequalities and deficiencies in services.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The FI-Index has been constructed <\/span><b>without any \u2018base year\u2019<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and as such it reflects cumulative efforts of all stakeholders over the years towards financial inclusion.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The FI-Index will be published <\/span><b>annually in July every year.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The index also includes data from various sectors such as banking, investments, insurance, postal services, and pensions, making it a comprehensive measure of financial inclusion in the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source:<\/b> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsonair.gov.in\/rbis-financial-inclusion-index-shows-growth-across-all-segments-in-fy25\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NOA<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Financial Inclusion Index has been conceptualised as a comprehensive index incorporating details of banking, investments, insurance, postal as well as the pension sector.
