{"id":5672,"date":"2022-12-12T04:17:12","date_gmt":"2022-12-11T22:47:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=5672"},"modified":"2025-03-27T10:14:32","modified_gmt":"2025-03-27T04:44:32","slug":"supreme-court-judges-appointment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/supreme-court-judges-appointment\/","title":{"rendered":"Supreme Court Judges Appointment"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Appointment Procedure of SC Judges:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Article 124(3) of the constitution<\/strong> mentions the following people as eligible to become a Supreme Court (SC) Judge:\n<ul>\n<li>A High Court (HC) judge who has held that post for 5 years or more.<\/li>\n<li>An advocate who has practised in the HC\/SC for 10 years or more.<\/li>\n<li>A distinguished Jurist (no judge appointed on this basis till date).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Article 124(2)<\/strong>says that the President of India Shall appoint the judges after consultation with such a number of Judges of the SC\/HC as he deems necessary.
