{"id":56900,"date":"2025-07-26T14:50:56","date_gmt":"2025-07-26T09:20:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=56900"},"modified":"2025-07-26T15:36:01","modified_gmt":"2025-07-26T10:06:01","slug":"scheme-for-promotion-of-culture-of-science","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/scheme-for-promotion-of-culture-of-science\/","title":{"rendered":"Scheme for Promotion of Culture of Science"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Scheme for Promotion of Culture of Science Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Union Minister for Culture and Tourism informed Rajya Sabha about the Scheme for Promotion of Culture of Science.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Scheme for Promotion of Culture of Science<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a flagship initiative of the <\/span><b>Ministry of Culture, Government of India.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is aimed at fostering scientific temper and awareness across the country for the public in general and students in particular.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scheme supports the <\/span><b>establishment of Science Cities, Science Centres, Innovation Hubs, and Digital Planetariums <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in various regions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Nodal Agency: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Culture, serves as the nodal agency for implementation of the scheme.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under this Scheme Science Centres\/Digital Planetariums (Category-III) are set up <\/span><b>in areas with a population of less than 5 lakhs.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As of July 2025, a total of 27 Science Centres have been established across the country under the Scheme for Promotion of Culture of Science (SPoCS) of the Ministry of Culture.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Significance: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These institutions have significantly contributed to enhancing scientific awareness and informal science education through hands-on exhibits, innovation hubs, digital planetariums, and outreach programmes.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2147787\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PIB<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Scheme for Promotion of Culture of Science is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
