text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a planned 1<\/span><b>125\u202fMW run-of-river project<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> situated in the eastern Lhuentse and Mongar Districts of <\/span><b>Bhutan <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">on the <\/span><b>Kurichhu River, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a <\/span><b>tributary of the Drangmechhu that flows into India.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At a height of approximately 139.5\u202fm, the <\/span><b>concrete-gravity dam<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> channels nearly 287\u202fm3\/s through a 15\u202fkm headrace tunnel to an <\/span><b>underground powerhouse <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">housing six Francis turbines, designed to generate around 4.5 terawatt-hours (TWh) annually.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At a total project cost of <\/span><b>\u20b913,100 crore, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dorjilung will be <\/span><b>Bhutan\u2019s second-largest hydropower project, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and the <\/span><b>largest Public\u2013Private Partnership (<a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/public-private-partnership\/\" target=\"_blank\">PPP<\/a>) hydro project <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ever undertaken in the country.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project is <\/span><b>financed by the World Bank.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In November 2024, <\/span><b>Bhutan\u2019s Druk Green Power Corporation (DGPC) signed an MoU with Tata Power Company Limited for the joint development of the project.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Project will be implemented through a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), with D<\/span><b>GPC and Tata Power holding equity shares of 60% and 40%, respectively.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;
