They are more complex as compared to prokaryotic cells.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These are any <\/span><b>cell or organism that<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> possesses a <\/span><b>clearly defined nucleus.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The eukaryotic cell has a <\/span><b>nuclear membrane<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that surrounds the nucleus, in which the well-defined chromosomes are located.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eukaryotic cells also <\/span><b>contain organelles,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> including mitochondria (cellular energy exchangers), a Golgi apparatus. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b style=\"font-size: inherit;\">Reproduction:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Eukaryotes can reproduce asexually through mitosis and sexually through meiosis and gamete fusion.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Darwin Tree of Life (DToL) Project aims to sequence the genomes of 70,000 species of eukaryotic organisms in Britain and Ireland.
