{"id":57898,"date":"2025-08-03T15:59:01","date_gmt":"2025-08-03T10:29:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=57898"},"modified":"2025-08-05T16:30:16","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T11:00:16","slug":"matri-van-initiative","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/matri-van-initiative\/","title":{"rendered":"Matri Van Initiative"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Matri Van Initiative Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, along with the Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs presided over the ceremonial launched\u00a0 the \u2018Matri Van\u2019 initiative.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Matri Van Initiative<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is an initiative under the <\/span><b>\u2018Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam\u2019 Programme<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of Government of India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>theme based urban forest<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> dedicated to nurturing generations through mother-nature-inspired green efforts &#8211; would be developed in an area of 750 acres in the Aravalli Hill area.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is envisioned as a <\/span><b>unique ecological and cultural space<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that will contribute to <\/span><b>biodiversity, public well-being, and urban sustainability.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This vision would be achieved through a multi-stakeholder collaboration involving CSR partners, <\/span><b>Resident Welfare Associations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (RWAs), <\/span><b>NGOs, multinational corporations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (MNCs), school children and government organizations.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main components of the \u2018Matri Van\u2019 would include removal of existing bushes like Kabuli Kikar (Prosopis juliflora) and plantation of Dhak\/Amaltash Trees along Gurugram-Faridabad Road, while creating theme-based Plantation Groves to restore local ecology in the Aravallis.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It would further include <\/span><b>nature trails, cycle track, yoga places, sitting places\/gazebos<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, public facilities, parking at four corners, treated water irrigation system\/misting\/sprinkling, waterbodies at selected locations for conservation of water and to check urban flooding.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source:<\/b> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2151693\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PIB<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Matri Van is a themed urban forest initiative under \u2018Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam\u2019, spanning 750 acres in Aravalli Hills, promoting nature-based growth.
