{"id":57909,"date":"2025-08-03T15:38:41","date_gmt":"2025-08-03T10:08:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=57909"},"modified":"2025-08-05T16:31:23","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T11:01:23","slug":"pm-national-dialysis-programme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/pm-national-dialysis-programme\/","title":{"rendered":"PM National Dialysis Programme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>PM National Dialysis Programme Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Government of India has significantly expanded the reach of the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme (PMNDP) and it is now operational across all 36 States and Union Territories, covering 751 districts.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About PM National Dialysis Programme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was <\/span><b>rolled out in 2016<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to <\/span><b>provide dialysis services free of cost<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to Below Poverty Line (BPL) beneficiaries at the district hospitals in the country.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is being <\/span><b>implemented under the National Health Mission<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (NHM) to provide free dialysis services to patients <\/span><b>suffering from end-stage kidney failure in <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Components:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The programme supports both <\/span><b>Haemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis services.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under this initiative he <\/span><b>PMNDP portal<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was launched which will <\/span><b>integrate all the dialysis centres operational<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the state under NHM and facilitate <\/span><b>building of renal registry<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and ensuring <\/span><b>portability within the state<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (one state one dialysis) and later throughout the country (One Nation-One Dialysis).\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Funding:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The <\/span><b>NHM provides financial assistance to States and UTs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for establishing and operating dialysis centres to ensure equitable access to kidney care services for all, regardless of geography.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Nodal Ministry:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Ministry of Health and Family Welfare<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source:<\/b> <a href=\"https:\/\/ddnews.gov.in\/en\/pm-national-dialysis-programme-expanded-to-751-districts-across-india\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DD News<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Launched in 2016, the PM National Dialysis Programme offers free dialysis services to BPL patients at district hospitals across India.
