{"id":57985,"date":"2025-08-04T12:17:25","date_gmt":"2025-08-04T06:47:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=57985"},"modified":"2025-08-04T16:24:36","modified_gmt":"2025-08-04T10:54:36","slug":"icrisats-ai-based-agromet-advisory-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/icrisats-ai-based-agromet-advisory-service\/","title":{"rendered":"ICRISAT\u2019s AI-based Agromet Advisory Service"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>ICRISAT\u2019s AI-based Agromet Advisory Service Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) and ICAR have launched an AI-based context-specific Agromet Advisory Service to boost farming.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About ICRISAT\u2019s AI-based Agromet Advisory Service<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ICRISAT\u2019s AI-based Agromet Advisory Service is a new initiative which <\/span><b>harness artificial intelligence<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (AI) and <\/span><b>machine learning (ML<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) to provide real-time, personalised <\/span><b>climate advisory services to farmers.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It aims to <\/span><b>equip smallholder farmers with hyper-local<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, actionable <\/span><b>weather and climate insights, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">enabling them to make informed decisions amid increasing climate variability.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The initiative will provide farmers with timely, actionable recommendations for critical decisions such as <\/span><b>sowing, irrigation, and pest management.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These advisories will be delivered through <\/span><b>user-friendly digital channels<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, including an AI-powered WhatsApp bot, ensuring easy access even in remote farming communities. \u200b<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project is supported under the <\/span><b>Government of India\u2019s Monsoon Mission III.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>project will first be<\/b> <b>implemented in Maharashtra<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, through ICAR\u2019s Agro-Meteorological Field Units (AMFUs) to reach smallholder farmers.
