topped India\u2019s states and Union territories in the India Electric Mobility Index (IEMI) 2025, scoring 84.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About India Electric Mobility Index<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a composite Index, which <\/span><b>assesses the policy framework<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and implementation outcomes for <\/span><b>e-mobility at the state-level.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is developed by the <\/span><b>NITI Aayog in collaboration with WRI India.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It evaluates and scores all Indian States and UTs out of <\/span><b>100 across 16 indicators<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> under <\/span><b>three-core themes:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li the India Electric Mobility Index 2025<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the index, the composite scores on performance <\/span><b>across all 36 States and Union Territories (UTs) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ranges from 10 to 84, and a median score of 40.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Delhi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> bagged the highest score of 84, followed by <\/span><b>Maharashtra <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(78), <\/span><b>Karnataka (73), Chandigarh<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (71), and <\/span><b>Goa (65).<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Madhya Pradesh recorded a substantial improvement, moving from the 23rd to seventh rank.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The index further <\/span><b>shows that eight large states<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2014 Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh \u2014 <\/span><b>have qualified as frontrunners.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The other seven large states such as Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Bihar, Kerala, Jharkhand, Punjab, and Gujarat were emerging performers with a score of 35-49.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The report also shows that <\/span><b>Delhi, Chandigarh, and Maharashtra<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> were the only UTs and states to qualify as top performers in transport electrification progress.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the <\/span><b>Charging Infrastructure Readiness<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (30% weightage), <\/span><b>Karnataka<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> recorded the highest score nationwide at 97, Goa (92) and Maharashtra (91).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Delhi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> also achieved the top score of 94 in the <\/span><b>EV Research and Innovation Status<\/b><span
