India has revised the advance registration period to apply for registration on the Steel Import Monitoring System (SIMS) 2.0 portal for import of all steel products, except some items.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Steel Import Monitoring System 2.0 Portal<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SIMS 2.0 Portal was launched by the <\/span><b>Union Ministry of Steels,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Government of India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>SIMS was introduced in 2019,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and has played a crucial role in providing detailed steel import data to the domestic industry.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Features of SIMS 2.0 Portal<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It provides advanced <\/span><b>information about steel imports<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to both the government as well as relevant stakeholders.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It features <\/span><b>API integration with multiple government portals<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, enhancing quality control and streamlining processes for improved efficiency and effectiveness.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The portal <\/span><b>boasts a robust data entry system,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ensuring consistent and authentic data, which promotes transparency and accountability.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Integration of various databases enables stakeholders to locate areas of risk and, thereby, permit better risk management.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Based on industry feedback, the Ministry has revamped the portal to develop a more effective SIMS 2.0, a significant step forward in monitoring steel imports and promoting
