text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>one of the two main headstreams of<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the <\/span><b>Ganges <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">River, the <\/span><b>other being the Alaknanda<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> River.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Course:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><b>originates <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">from the <\/span><b>Gaumukh Glacier<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> located at the <\/span><b>base of the Khatling and Gangotri Glaciers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the <\/span><b>Garhwal Himalayas, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">where the melting ice gives birth to the river.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Further, the river passes through the Tehri Garhwal district, including the towns of Uttarkashi and Tehri, where it <\/span><b>encounters cliffs, rapids, and waterfalls.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is joined by<\/span><b> tributaries<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> such as \u2013 <\/span><b>Kedar Ganga, Jadh Ganga, Kakora Gad, Jalandari Gad, Siyan Gad, Asi Ganga <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Bhilangana<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;
